GENETICS AND METABOLISM

 

OVERVIEW:The Division of Genetics and Metabolism
• Provides a scholarly environment whereby physicians in training, and other students, can better understand the role of genetics in human disease.
• Provides expert clinical genetics consultation to the Health Science Center and its affiliated programs.
• Conducts basic and clinical research involving genetic disorders.
• Serves as a resource to the State of Florida concerning the science of genetics and its role in medicine and in our society.
• Works cooperatively with other state agencies to help treat, prevent, or ameliorate the effects of human genetic disorders.
