Lactation Support
Our multidisciplinary NICU Lactation Support Committee includes NICU nurses, lactation consultants and counselors, occupational therapists, and neonatologists. We actively promote own mothers' milk feeding and breastfeeding through several activities. Staff education about the importance of breast milk is constantly happening. Some staff voluntarily pursued special training in order to better help and support breastfeeding mothers in the NICU. We may have breastfeeding related research studies going on in which you may be able to participate. Dr. Sullivan provides breastfeeding medicine consultations when necessary.
