Electives
One of the strengths of our curriculum is the large number and diverse options of elective rotations. First-year residents have one elective rotation, second-year residents have two elective rotations and third-year residents have four elective rotations plus a subspecialty rotation. All residents choose their electives to suit their own interests and career goals. The resident's faculty advisor and the program director aid in this process in order to ensure compliance with guidelines set by the ACGME. Elective time usually includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. Vacation may be taken during elective rotations.
