Pulmonology Fellowship Program

The Pediatric Pulmonology fellowship is a 3 year program aimed at achieving excellence in its graduates in clinical aspects of pediatric pulmonary medicine, critical evaluation of research in this field as teachers. Graduates of this program are prepared for successful careers in clinical practice or the academic setting. Training over 3 years can be individualized and tailored to the fellows career goals. During the first year of training, pediatric pulmonary fellows develop a research project with assistance from their faculty mentor. They spend 3 months on the inpatient/consultation service, attend pediatric pulmonary clinic one half day per week, and spend one month in the pulmonary function laboratory. In the second year and third year fellows complete a research project and submit it for publication. In addition, fellows spend 2-3 months on the inpatient/consultation service and continue to attend one half day of clinic per week. The fellowship training program includes strong sleep medicine curriculum and clinical experience. University of Florida also sponsors an accredited sleep medicine fellowship training program.
